Training Videotape Series

Julie and Charles Weatherly have developed a 10-part video series designed for use in training and inservice of educators with less experience regarding the legal requirements of IDEA and Section 504. The series was updated in 2007 to address topics such as a General Overview of the IDEA and the 2004 IDEA Amendments, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Discipline of Students with Disabilities, Serving Students in the Least Restrictive Environment, Private School/Residential Placement, Serving Medically Fragile Students, Extended School Year and Avoiding Procedural Violations of the IDEA. National CASE Newsletter and Other Publications

For over seven years, Julie has authored the "legal update" section of the newsletter for the National Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE).  In addition, CASE has recently published the "Lucky 21" series of quick-reference guides for educators.  The first "Lucky 21" guide is entitled "Avoiding Legal Disputes in Special Education: 21 Training Points for Administrators."  The second "Lucky 21" guide is entitled "Section 504:  21 Myths and Realities for School Personnel" and the third "Lucky 21" guide written by Julie addresses Discipline of Students with Disabilities.  For more information, contact http://casecec.org and click on the Products page or click here for an order form
